Past

(BSc) INDUSTRIAL DESIGN

Projects

Looking back, my early projects already reflected an interest in societal narratives, material exploration and realization. While I initially leaned toward technical execution, reflection has clarified that my core focus lies in concept development and storytelling, with realization serving as a tool to materialize research and vision rather than an end in itself.

'PERCEPTION'

Could we experience light without seeing? - a multisensorial approach

A multisensorial installation exploring light, spatial experience and accessibility through large-scale interaction design.

Team IGNITE - GLOW 2025

This project strengthened my control over the full design process in a real-world, multidisciplinary context. Through large-scale realization, user research with visually impaired participants and collaboration with external suppliers, I developed confidence in networking, stakeholder communication and professional production beyond the academic setting.

'NO STRINGS ATTACHED'

Fashion as interaction - sustainability through transformation

Exploring how interaction and aesthetics can support sustainability in fashion.

B3.1 Internship - Dutch Design Week 2025

This project marks a transition from speculative design toward a grounded approach for product design. Through designing a transformable garment, I combined interaction design, textile craftsmanship and digital fabrication to explore sustainability through user engagement and longevity. The project strengthened my ability to translate conceptual ideas into refined and wearable outcomes.

STUDY CHAIR

How can the study environment support a healthy balance between workflow and rest?

Designing a multisensory study chair that supports focus and rest through light, scent, sound and timed interaction, inspired by natural forms and the Pomodoro rhythm.

Multidisciplinary CBL - Healthy Working Environment

This project strengthened my ability to position myself within a multidisciplinary team and clarified my role as an industrial designer. By leading the human-centered design process, structuring research and supporting the technical realization, I discovered my strengths in translating user insights into tangible concepts while guiding ideation and making.

'PLASTHETICS'

Is plastic that bad? - a new take on sustainable fashion

Showcasing the good properties of plastic with applicability to sustainable fashion innovation.

Crafting Wearable Senses - Project 3

The practice of design research within material exploration with a focus on design-for-debate brought me in a better alignment with my vision, making me realize that while technology is a big part of it, speculation is actually the purpose.

'HOMELY'

Home away from home - helping international students overcome homesickness

Multisensorial experience meant to resemble the environment from the user's home country.

CBL - Project 2

The practice of an exploratory approach prepared me for working with research based processes, and designing the interaction brought me new perspectives about how Technology & Realization can enhance the communication of a concept.

'LILY'

What if plants could communicate their feelings?

Interactive flower-shaped companion, meant to communicate waterlilies' feelings through human-like character.

CBL - Project 2 (Creative Electronics module)

Designing the interaction made me realize how a story is important for a meaningful and intuitive user experience, while I was also able to see how interaction could contribute to telling a story.

'PLANET 42'

What if our planet won't make it? - educating through play

Space-themed educational game, inspired by climate change.

CBL - Project 1

The iterative process approach trained my mindset towards a continuous reflection and evolution of concepts based on improvements, that has prepared me for working with research based projects.

Designing the user journey challenged my problem-solving mindset and taught me the importance of designing with users when designing for users.

Activities

INTERNSHIP

Fashion Tech Farm Eindhoven

Supporting the development and production of textile-based products and wearables with embedded technologies, contributing to Dutch Design Week exhibition organization and assisting with a wide range of studio and organizational tasks within a multidisciplinary creative environment.

B3.1 - External Learning Activity

This internship marked a shift from speculative exploration toward designing products that can exist within real-world production contexts. By working hands-on with textiles, digital fabrication and garment development, I learned to translate conceptual and research-driven ideas into tangible outcomes, while gaining insight into how technology and strategy shape design within a professional environment.

COMMUNICATION & GRAPHIC DESIGN

Team IGNITE

Developing visual and communicative content, including social media assets, posters, banners and website updates, contributing to the public identity and outreach of the team.

November 2024 - September 2025

While not in a direct relation to my vision, graphic and communication design strengthened my understanding of design as a storytelling practice. This experience refined my ability to articulate concepts visually and strategically, and made me aware of the role of communication and branding. Moreover, learning Adobe Illustrator made me more open and adaptable to other Creative Cloud programs.

Design related personal projects

Looking at past activities but also current hobbies outside of my studies, it is possible to identify how storytelling & user experience, garment design and craftsmanship have always been part of my design practice, being connected and implemented through an exploratory mindset ever since before my industrial design studies.

STORYTELLING THROUGH DESIGN

Designing and producing artifacts meant to serve storytelling has trained my approach to concept development that is considerate towards user experience and technical realization.

GARMENT design

My passion for fashion and limited garment construction knowledge at the time guided my exploratory approach towards designing garments, combining methods such as sketching, draping or prototyping.

EXPLORATORY CRAFTS

My personal interest in crafting activities helped me discover new materials and techniques, and practice my exploratory approach towards gaining new production skills.
