NEXT STEPS IN MY DEVELOPMENT
Having a good foundation of conceptualization, storytelling and user-centered design, as well as a good autonomy over design research projects, I aim to redirect my learning upon the areas of Technology & Realization and Math, Data & Computing, which have not been my main focus within the last semester, which I have engaged with less in the past semester. Strengthening these areas will prepare me for a more balanced and technically grounded Final Bachelor Project (FBP). Therefore, as my B3.1 choice for the next semester, I am planning to pursue an internship focused on textile production and material research. In parallel, I will continue the development of the GLOW project within Team IGNITE, moving on to the technical realization of the project.
As for my Final Bachelor Project, I aim to create a project that encapsulates my whole design identity and vision. Therefore, I am considering either the Crafting Wearable Senses squad where I would focus on textile research, with speculative design in addition, or the Transforming Practices squad, where I would focus on social design, with textile exploration in addition.
Following graduation, I am planning to pursue a Masters program either within the area of strategic design, focusing on the conceptual part of design, or in fashion design, where the aim would be developing my fabric crafting techniques within a speculative lens. While I would like to pursue the master in another European country in order to broaden my cultural and methodical perspective, as that would align with my positioning as a learner about the world, I am not yet sure where. Since my vision is quite unique, I am not excluding the option of continuing my master in the Netherlands, as I feel that a self-directed learning approach would give me more freedom to shape my own path of development.
